Environmental Dynamics and Exposure Pathways of Subsurface Contaminants - Part 2Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology
National Academy of Sciences Building
2101 Constitution Ave NW Washington DC 20418
This session will focus on approaches for characterizing exposure pathways of subsurface contaminants to humans and ecosystems. The session also will seek to identify key information needs to improve risk assessments and risk management decisions. The latest research on uptake of subsurface contaminants by flora and fauna will be explored. Specific case examples will be discussed that illustrate the kinds of risk management decisions that rely upon a thorough characterization of exposure pathways.
